1. Welcome, Creator!
Thank you for contributing to Testngine as a quiz creator. These guidelines help maintain a high-quality, respectful, and legally compliant marketplace for everyone. By publishing quizzes on the Platform, you agree to follow these guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service.
2. Content Standards
2.1 Original Content
All quiz content you upload must be your original work, or you must have explicit rights to use and distribute it. This includes questions, answers, explanations, descriptions, images, and any other media.
- Do not copy questions from copyrighted exams, textbooks, or proprietary sources
- Do not use copyrighted images, logos, or media without permission
- AI-generated content is permitted but must be reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness
- Provide accurate and truthful information about your quiz content
2.2 Quality Requirements
We expect all quizzes to meet a minimum quality standard to ensure a positive experience for learners:
- Questions must be clear, grammatically correct, and free of spelling errors
- Answers must be accurate and unambiguous
- Explanations should provide meaningful educational value where applicable
- Quiz descriptions must accurately represent the content (minimum 150 words recommended)
- Use appropriate tags and categories to help users discover your quiz
2.3 Quiz Types
You can publish quizzes in three formats, each with specific requirements:
- Free Quizzes: Available to all users at no cost. Minimum 10 live questions required.
- Locked Quizzes: Accessible only via passkey. Minimum 10 live questions required. Ideal for classrooms, teams, or private groups.
- Paid Quizzes: Available for purchase. Minimum 20 live questions required. You earn 75-80% of revenue from sales.
3. Prohibited Content
The following content types are strictly prohibited on the Platform:
- Hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content targeting any group or individual
- Graphic violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
- Sexually explicit or suggestive content
- Content promoting illegal activities, drug use, or self-harm
- Spam, misleading information, or clickbait
- Copyright-infringing material or content you do not own
- Malicious code, links to harmful websites, or phishing attempts
- Exam dumps or content intended to bypass certification integrity
- Personal information about individuals without their consent
4. Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership of the content you create. By publishing on the Platform, you grant Testngine a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content solely for operating the Platform. You may remove your content at any time, subject to consumer protection obligations.
You represent and warrant that your content does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets.
5. Contract & Consumer Protection
5.1 Maintaining Published Quizzes
Once a quiz is published and has consumers (users who have taken or purchased it), you are obligated to maintain its content according to these rules:
- Paid quizzes with consumers must maintain at least 20 live questions
- Free/locked quizzes with consumers must maintain at least 10 live questions
- Deleting or saving questions as draft that would breach these minimums is prohibited when consumers exist
- Honor the terms of paid quiz purchases, including access duration and content promised at time of sale
5.2 Active Subscriptions
To keep quizzes published, you must maintain an active hosting subscription. Subscriptions are billed quarterly and include:
- Question limits based on your selected tier
- 25% discount on hosting for free and locked quizzes
- Automatic renewal unless canceled before the billing date
- Pro-rated billing for mid-cycle tier upgrades or downgrades
5.3 Revenue & Payouts
Paid quiz sales use the following revenue split:
- 75-80% creator payout (varies by quiz tier and pricing)
- 20-25% platform fee
- Payouts processed via Stripe Connect
- Subject to Stripe processing fees and tax reporting requirements
6. Community & Ethics
As a creator, you play a vital role in our community. We expect you to:
- Respond constructively to user feedback and reviews
- Update content when errors are reported
- Not manipulate quiz ratings, reviews, or purchase statistics
- Not create multiple accounts to circumvent platform restrictions
- Not impersonate other users or falsely represent credentials
- Respect the privacy and learning experience of all users
7. Security & Exam Integrity
For locked quizzes using passkey protection:
- Passkeys are cryptographically hashed using bcrypt (12 salt rounds)
- Never share plaintext passkeys through insecure channels
- Share unlock keys only with intended users (students, team members, etc.)
- You can regenerate passkeys at any time to revoke access
8. Enforcement & Consequences
Violation of these guidelines may result in:
- Content removal or restriction without prior notice
- Temporary or permanent suspension of your publishing privileges
- Temporary or permanent suspension of your account
- Forfeiture of revenue from violating content
- Legal action for serious violations, including copyright infringement
